Pour the watermelon and basil into a small blender and blend together until combined. Stir in the Rosé. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container.
Freeze IMMEDIATELY on a level surface for 24 hours. If you don’t freeze immediately, the watermelon will separate in the container. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.
Process the Ice Cream
After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer.
Allow the pint to thaw on the counter for 15-20 minutes and then place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on "SORBET."
If the sorbet is dry or crumbly looking (like sand), pour in a tablespoon or two of Rosé and then re-spin. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.
Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!
Notes
What is Rosé?Rosé is a wine, not a champagne. It is usually a sparkling wine with bubbles. The process to make Rosé involves using the grapes with the skins on for part of the process. The grape skins give the wine the pinkish color. Since the grape skins are removed midway through the process, the wine remains a pinkish color instead of turning a deeper red. The flavor of the rosé varies greatly based on which type and brand you buy. It can be very dry or very sweet. When making this recipe, I would recommend a sweeter variety as there is no additional sugar added to this recipe. How long do I need to freeze the frosé?It is recommended to freeze all Ninja Creami mixtures for a full 24 hours. This is so that the mixture is consistently frozen solid throughout the entire pint. You want to make sure that there are no inconsistencies in the pint as that may damage the Ninja Creami machine. However, for this recipe, since we are looking for more of a slushy like texture, you will need to thaw the mixture a little bit before processing. If you process right away, it will be okay but it will be difficult to drink and you may need a spoon.
