Pour the protein shake, cottage cheese, and sliced peaches into a small blender and blend together until the cottage cheese is completely combined with the other ingredients. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container.
Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.
Process the Ice Cream
After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer.
Place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on "LITE ICE CREAM."
The ice cream will be a little crumbly, but not dry. I do not re-spin or add more liquid with this recipe because the canned peaches that are mixed in add a lot of liquid to the ice cream.
Dig a hole down the center of the ice cream and pour the granola and quartered sliced peaches down the center of the ice cream and then process on mix-ins.
Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!
Notes
Can I use fresh peaches for this recipe instead of canned?Yes! You can. Fresh peaches work really well in Ninja Creami ice cream. When using fresh peaches, you don't even need to peel them when adding them to the ice cream base. I do recommend peeling them when adding as mix-ins.
Do you have to blend cottage cheese when adding it to ice cream?Technically, no. But, if you don't blend it, you might end up with some small chunks of cottage cheese throughout.
Can you taste the cottage cheese in this recipe? No. The ice cream does not taste like cottage cheese. But, the cottage cheese adds a lot of extra protein and helps create a super creamy texture. Be sure to get no salt added cottage cheese. Otherwise, the ice cream may have an unwanted salty flavor to it.
