Pour the unsweetened almond milk, protein powder, sugar substitute, cocoa powder, and guar gum into a small blender and blend together until all ingredients are well combined. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container.
Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.
Process the Ice Cream
After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer.
Place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on "LITE ICE CREAM."
If the ice cream is dry or crumbly looking (like sand), pour in a tablespoon or two of unsweetened almond milk and then re-spin. If the ice cream looks like little balls of ice cream, respin without adding liquid. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.
Dig a well down the center of the ice cream and pour in the cut-up strawberries and melted chocolate chips. Process on mix-ins.
Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!

Notes
Can I use any type of protein powder in this recipe?Technically, yes. But, I would try to stick with an unflavored protein powder. I used whey protein but you can experiment with other types of protein powder like plant-based , soy, casein, egg white, pea, or hemp protein powder. The texture may vary based on the type of protein powder that you use.Why are the chocolate chips melted before adding as a mix-in?Melting the chocolate chips helps to incorporate little flakes of chocolate throughout the ice cream instead of big chunks every now and then. If you don't want to use melted chocolate chips, you can use magic shell or chopped up chocolate chips instead.Do zero-sugar chocolate chips taste bad?No! I will say that I was PLEASANTLY surprised when I started using them. They taste great and provide just enough chocolatey goodness! You'd never know that they don't have any sugar in them!
