Pour the pears and their juice and the allulose into a small blender and mix until all of the ingredients have been mixed together well. Pour into a Ninja Creami container.
Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit.
Process the Ice Cream
After 24 hours, remove the Ninja Creami container from the freezer. If there is a large bump in the sorbet, melt or scrape the large bump so that the top is level.
Place the Ninja Creami container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on "SORBET."
If the sorbet is dry or crumbly looking (like sand), respin. You should not need to add any additional liquid during the respin. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.
Dig a well down the center of the sorbet, pour the cherries, and process on "MIX-INS."
Notes
Do canned pears provide much flavor to the sorbet?
Surprisingly, YES! Canned pears don’t have a whole lot of flavor but when you turn them into sorbet, something magical happens! The pear flavor comes to life and adds so much to this sorbet.
Can the cherries be added to the base recipe instead of as mix-ins?
I kept the cherries as mix-ins only because the pear sorbet on its own tastes so great! Adding the cherries as mix-ins provides a separation between the pear and cherry flavors. If you add the cherries to the base recipe, you won’t be able to taste the pears as much.
Can frozen cherries be used instead of fresh?
Sure, you can use frozen cherries instead of fresh ones. Be sure to thaw the cherries before adding them as mix-ins.
I do not recommend using jarred, maraschino cherries or canned tart cherries as the flavor will be completely different.
