If you have ever eaten a caramel fudge waffle cone and thought “this needs to be ice cream,” then trust me, this is the recipe for you! This Ninja Creami Caramel Fudge Waffle Cone Protein Ice Cream has a deep, rich chocolate and caramel fudge flavor with actual crunchy waffle cone pieces and chopped caramel chips mixed right in. This recipe is high in protein and low in calories…But, I promise you it does not taste like it!
This recipe comes in at 312.5 calories, 32.25 grams of protein, 3.5 grams of sugar, 7.5 grams of fat, and 35 carbs for the ENTIRE pint. See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for all nutrition facts.

One thing I cannot stand about a lot of Ninja Creami protein ice cream recipes is that they taste exactly like what they are made of…a frozen protein shake. The shake flavor just does not go away no matter what you do, and it makes the whole thing feel more like a chore than a treat. That is NOT what is happening with this recipe. The combination of dark cocoa powder, chocolate fudge pudding mix, and the caramel fudge waffle cone syrup completely transforms the chocolate protein shake base into something that tastes like ACTUAL ice cream.
Let’s talk about the dark cocoa powder for a second, because it really does matter here. Regular cocoa powder is fine, but dark cocoa powder gives you this deep, rich, almost fudgy chocolate flavor that you just cannot get any other way. I use it in pretty much every chocolate Ninja Creami recipe now because the difference is SO noticeable. Pair that with the chocolate fudge pudding mix, which also pulls double duty as a stabilizer to give you that thick and creamy texture, and you have a base that is genuinely delicious before you even add the mix-ins.

The caramel fudge waffle cone syrup is a Skinny Syrup, which means it has zero calories, zero sugar, and zero carbs. I know that sounds too good to be true, but I mean it! You only need one tablespoon to get that caramel waffle cone flavor all the way through the base. It is part of their ice cream collection and you can find it on Amazon or sometimes at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, or Marshalls. If you have not tried Skinny Syrups in your Ninja Creami recipes yet, this one is a great place to start.

The mix-ins are where this Ninja Creami protein ice cream really comes together. Broken waffle cone pieces give you that satisfying crunch in every bite, and the chopped sugar-free chocolate salted caramel chips add this sweet and salty thing that is seriously SO good. Make sure you CHOP the caramel chips before they go in, as whole chips get very hard once frozen and are tough to chew through. If you want to get creative, crushed Oreos, mini chocolate chips, or even a drizzle of sugar-free caramel sauce on top would all be amazing with this flavor profile.

The lite ice cream setting on the Ninja Creami is the right button for this recipe. Lite Ice Cream is the setting designed for lower-fat, lower-sugar, higher-protein bases like this one. Do not skip the blending step before you freeze it either! Blending everything together first makes sure the pudding mix is fully dissolved into the liquid so you do not end up with any lumps or weird spots in the frozen base. Blend it, pour it, freeze it for 24 hours on a level surface with the lid off, and then let the Ninja Creami do its thing.
Tips for making Ninja Creami Caramel Fudge Waffle Cone Protein Ice Cream
Caramel fudge waffle cone syrup is a Skinny Syrup and is part of their ice cream collection. Skinny Syrups have 0 calories, 0 sugar, and 0 carbs, and they come in a bunch of different flavors. You can find them on Amazon as well as in specialty food stores and at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls.
No real waffles here! I used broken up waffle cones and waffle bowls as mix-ins and toppings. I would not recommend using actual waffles because they will not give you the extra crunch that waffle cone pieces do. If you do not have waffle cones on hand, broken up pizzelle cookies work great as a substitute.
I used a Premier Protein chocolate shake, which is my go-to for Ninja Creami protein ice cream recipes. Fairlife chocolate protein shakes also work really well. Just taste your shake before adding it to the mixture because if you do not love the flavor of the shake on its own, it will come through in the final ice cream.
Yes, regular instant chocolate fudge pudding mix works fine in this recipe! The texture will still be thick and creamy. Just make sure it is INSTANT pudding only. Do not use cook-and-serve or premade pudding, because those will not work the same way.
This is really common with Ninja Creami protein ice cream and nothing to worry about! Just pour in 1 to 2 tablespoons of chocolate almond milk and re-spin. If it comes out looking more like little balls than dry sand, skip the liquid and just re-spin without adding anything. You might have to repeat the process a couple of times.

Ingredient tips and substitutions
The full ingredient list is at the bottom of this post in the recipe card.

- Chocolate Protein Shake: I used a Premier Protein chocolate shake, but any chocolate protein shake you like will work. Just taste it first because the shake flavor does carry through to the final Ninja Creami protein ice cream.
- Sugar-Free Instant Chocolate Fudge Pudding Mix: Regular instant chocolate pudding mix works just as well. Just make sure it is INSTANT only, not cook-and-serve or premade, and do not use vanilla protein powder flavored pudding if you want to keep the chocolate fudge flavor.
- Caramel Fudge Waffle Cone Syrup: This is a Skinny Syrup from their ice cream collection. If you cannot find this specific flavor, any zero-calorie caramel or butterscotch syrup will work as a substitute, though the waffle cone flavor is really what makes this recipe special.
- Dark Cocoa Powder: Dark cocoa powder gives this recipe a much richer, deeper chocolate flavor than regular cocoa powder. If you only have regular unsweetened cocoa powder it will still work, but the chocolate flavor will not be quite as bold or fudgy.
- Waffle Cone (Broken into pieces): Broken waffle bowls work exactly the same way as waffle cone pieces, and if you do not have either on hand, broken pizzelle cookies are a great substitute that will still give you that satisfying crunch as a mix-in.
- Sugar-Free Chocolate Salted Caramel Chips: Make sure you chop these before adding them as mix-ins as whole chips get VERY hard once frozen and are really difficult to chew. You can use regular chocolate chips, mini chocolate chips, or even chopped peanut butter cups instead if you prefer.
- Chocolate Almond Milk (Optional): This is only needed if the ice cream comes out dry or crumbly after using the lite ice cream setting. Any dairy or non-dairy milk works here, and using chocolate almond milk adds a little extra chocolate flavor to go with the re-spin.
Directions for Making the Ice Cream Mixture
- Pour the chocolate protein shake, pudding mix, caramel fudge waffle cone syrup, and dark cocoa powder into a small blender and blend together until the pudding mix is completely combined with the liquids. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container.
- Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.

Directions for Processing the Ice Cream Mixture
- After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer.
- Place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on “LITE ICE CREAM.”
- If the ice cream is dry or crumbly looking (like sand), pour in a tablespoon or two of chocolate almond milk and then re-spin. If the ice cream looks like little balls of ice cream, respin without adding liquid. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.
- Dig a well down the center of the ice cream and pour in the waffle cone pieces and caramel chips in the center of the ice cream and process on mix-ins.
- Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!
