Check out my recipe for making perfectly cooked, Ninja Foodi Grill Hard Boiled Eggs using the Air Crisp function!
Did you know that you can air fry eggs to make hard-boiled eggs? Well, you can! And all you’ll need is a Ninja Foodi Grill that has the air fryer function or any air fryer, eggs, and an ice bath!

This recipe was made using the Ninja® Foodi® Smart XL Pro Grill & Griddle, but any Ninja Foodi Grill or Air Fryer can be used for this recipe.
When you air fry eggs, you can vary the temperature to make hard-boiled, soft boiled eggs, or any place in between! Perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs work great for making deviled eggs, Easter eggs, potato salad, egg salad sandwiches or for topping salads! For a quick snack, just sprinkle some salt and pepper or bagel seasoning on top!
Whether you are using large eggs or smaller eggs, you can make perfectly cooked eggs without having to boil water on the stove!

While I used the Ninja Foodi Grill to make my hard-boiled eggs, you can use any type of air fryer that you would like, as long as it has a rack or air fryer basket inside of it. Since air fryers vary in size and design, they may not all cook exactly the same. If you are using a different air fryer, I would recommend testing the cook times on a couple of eggs before fully committing to the time on all of your eggs.
Don’t have an air fryer? If you’ve got a pressure cooker, you’re in luck because you can also make hard-boiled eggs in the regular Ninja Foodi that has the pressure cooker function! Check out my recipe for making pressure-cooked hard-boiled eggs here!
One of the tricks to getting perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs is the use of an ice water bath! If you don’t have a lot of ice, you can use really cold water instead. But, the idea is that when you remove the eggs from the air fryer, you want them to stop cooking immediately. Placing them in an ice bath cools the eggs off quickly and stops the cooking process!

Tips for making Ninja Foodi Grill Hard Boiled Eggs
Yes! You can! Since the Ninja Foodi Grill has an air-crisp function, it cooks hard-boiled eggs just like any other air fryer can. Using an air fryer to hard boil your eggs means that you don’t have to boil water on the stove top and the process is pretty hands-off. Simply set the temperature and timer, put the eggs in the air fryer basket, let them cook, and then put them in an ice bath when they are finished cooking!
Yes! You can make hard-boiled eggs using your Ninja air fryer. I used the Ninja Foodi grill, but any air fryer can be used for this recipe. Make sure that you are using a crisping basket or some sort of wire rack.
The most common temperature to air fry hard-boiled eggs is 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking at this temperature ensures that the eggs cook evenly and do not crack during the cooking process.
It can take anywhere from 10-16 minutes to air fry hard boiled eggs. The longer the eggs air fry for, the more done the yolk will be.
9-10 Minutes– Yolk and white will be runny
11-12 Minutes– White will be cooked, yolk will be runny
12-13 Minutes- White will be cooked, yolk will be barely runny in the center
14-16 Minutes– Yolk and white will be cooked hard
Yes, it is perfectly safe to hard boil eggs in an air fryer. You’re not really “boiling” the eggs since no water is used. Instead, you are cooking the eggs using the hot air that circulates inside of the air fryer to cook the eggs.
Yes! You can. I would recommend peeling the eggs, put in an air-tight container, and then refrigerate them for up to 5 days. If you prefer to store the eggs in their shells, there’s no need to put them in any containers. I do not recommend freezing hard-boiled eggs as the texture changes drastically when thawed.

What you’ll need to make Ninja Foodi Grill Hard Boiled Eggs:

Ingredient substitutions and tips for making Ninja Foodi Grill Hard Boiled Eggs:
The full ingredient list is found at the bottom of the post in the recipe card.
Eggs- Raw eggs in the shell. I use large, white eggs from the grocery store. But, you can use any size egg that you would like and you can also use brown eggs. The cooking time will vary a little bit based on the size of the egg. Reduce cook time by a minute or so for small or medium eggs and increase cook time by a minute or so for larger eggs.
Ice Bath- To make an ice bath, add ice cubes and cold water to a bowl. You can use very cold water or all ice if desired. The goal is to stop the eggs from cooking by cooling them down.

How do you use frozen fruit in the Ninja Creami?
The manual that comes with the Ninja Creami says that you cannot use frozen fruit in the machine. This can be confusing because, technically, you can use frozen fruit in the Ninja Creami. However, you have to follow a few rules when doing so. I’ve seen a lot of people on social media tossing frozen fruit chunks straight into the Ninja Creami and spinning it like it’s a blender. But the Creami isn’t a blender, and it’s not meant to be used like one. Even though some people have gotten lucky doing it that way, it can actually damage the […]

I so wanted this to work but half the egg white peeled off with the shell. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ I immediately put them into ice water and they were completely cool when I attempted to peel them. They ended up mutilated. I tried this a long time ago with an old air fryer but hoped my brand new one might produce better results. Sadly not. It’s such a quick solution if the eggs would peel. Any ideas?
Lauren Cardona says
Ahh! That happens sometimes. Honestly, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. It could be the age of the eggs or the temperature of the eggs before cooking them. I have more batches that peel perfectly than don’t. But, there are still the occasional eggs that don’t peel well.
