Making frozen yogurt at home is not hard, it’s not complicated, and you don’t need a million ingredients to get a great texture. It really is as simple as finding a yogurt you enjoy and adding some fruit for extra flavor. If you’re looking for a very sweet frozen yogurt like you would get at a yogurt shop, you’ll need to add additional sweetener, as this recipe gets its sweetness from the yogurt and the fruit alone.
When making frozen yogurt in the Ninja Creami machine, the yogurt you use matters. If you use a yogurt that you don't like the taste of regularly, you won't enjoy it once it's been frozen into frozen yogurt. Make sure to pick a style and flavor of yogurt that you would eat on its own.
Oftentimes, people complain that the frozen yogurt they make in their Ninja Creami doesn't taste the same as it does at a frozen yogurt shop. That's usually because it doesn't have the extra sweetener added. If you want it to taste like the frozen yogurt from a shop, you'll need to add your sweetener of choice, whether that's sugar, allulose, monk fruit, or something else.
The easiest way to tell if it will be sweet enough after freezing is to taste it before you freeze it. Frozen yogurt usually tastes a little less sweet once it's frozen, so add enough sweetener until the yogurt tastes slightly too sweet, then freeze it.

Tips for making Ninja Creami Strawberry Frozen Yogurt:
You can use any type of yogurt that you would like. Regular, full-fat Greek yogurt, French, Australian, homemade or store-bought. Just make sure that you like the taste of the yogurt before you freeze it as it will taste just like that once frozen.
You can use a different fruit and berries like blueberries, raspberries, bananas, etc., instead of the strawberries if you would like.
Smooth out the top of the ice cream and put it back in the freezer. Freeze until hard and then either sit it out on the counter to soften for about 10 minutes or process again on the same initial process that you used.
I always recommend that you freeze your Ninja Creami creations for 24 hours to make sure it’s frozen solid all the way through. If you process it and it’s not fully frozen, the results can be icy and soft.
A lot of people thaw their creations before processing because they think it’s too hard when it’s frozen solid. But, the machine was made to process frozen solid creations (assuming you use proper ingredients and proper settings on the machine).
If you thaw the strawberries first, you can add them as a mix-in. However, frozen strawberries tend to be watery when thawed, which will make the frozen yogurt more like soft serve. You cannot use frozen strawberries as mix-ins as they will be hard for the machine to process. I prefer to use fresh fruit as a mix-in.

Ingredient tips and substitutions for making Ninja Creami Strawberry Frozen Yogurt:
The full ingredient list is at the bottom of this post in the recipe card.
- Yogurt-Use whatever brand and style of yogurt you prefer. If the yogurt is tangy, the frozen yogurt is going to be tangy. If the yogurt is very sweet, then the yogurt will be sweeter. For this recipe, I recommend using vanilla flavored yogurt instead of plain. The vanilla goes well with the strawberries and makes the frozen yogurt much more flavorful.
- Strawberries- Fresh, ripe strawberries. If you use frozen strawberries, make sure you thaw them first. But, keep in mind that frozen strawberries tend to be a little watery which will make the frozen yogurt more like soft serve.
Directions for Making the Ice Cream Mixture
- Pour the yogurt into a Ninja Creami pint container.
- Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To help avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.
Directions for Processing the Ice Cream Mixture
- After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer.
- Place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on “LITE ICE CREAM” or “FROZEN YOGURT.”
- The fresh strawberries will add a lot of moisture to the frozen yogurt. So, even if the yogurt looks dry and crumbly, don’t do a respin or add more liquid. The frozen yogurt should become creamy during the mix-ins proces..
- Dig a well down the center of the frozen yogurt and pour in the strawberries. Process on mix-ins.
- Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!

Recipes that use allulose:
Allulose is a low calorie sweetener that your body doesn't fully digest, so it provides only 0.4 calories per gram instead of 4. That's why the calorie total doesn't match what you'd expect from the carb count. Calories from allulose are calculated based on metabolized carbohydrates. Allulose contributes fewer calories than standard carbohydrates.

Everyone knows that it’s recommended to freeze your Ninja Creami base for 24 hours before processing. But does it need to be frozen for exactly 24 hours?
