I absolutely LOVE all things blueberry! I can’t get enough of them. I find myself coming up with new Ninja Creami ice cream maker blueberry recipes all the time! My Ninja Creami blueberries and sweet cream recipe is super easy to make, doesn’t have a bunch of ingredients, and is so delicious!
Blueberry ice cream isn’t super popular at the grocery store, but you can make it at home using the Ninja Creami. The flavor is great, and the texture is so so smooth and creamy!
I make blueberry ice cream all the time. I have some recipes where I cook the blueberries down into a sauce and others where I just use the blueberries as is. This recipe does not involve cooking anything. The fresh blueberry flavor pairs really well with the sweet cream.
Cooking the blueberries works really well in recipes where you are looking for a deeper blueberry flavor like you would find in blueberry pie.

For this recipe, I used store-bought, liquid, coffee creamer. My favorite flavor for using in ice cream is Italian Sweet Cream. It tastes sort of like vanilla, but it has more of a sweetened cream flavor and less of a vanilla flavor. The flavor is neutral enough that you can use it with just about any fruit and it will create a great tasting ice cream.

I like to buy blueberries when they are in season and on sale. I buy extras, wash them, and then freeze them in small ziplock bags. Whenever I want blueberry ice cream, I just take out a bag of blueberries, thaw them, and then add them to my other Ninja Creami base ingredients.

Tips for making Ninja Creami Blueberries and Sweet Cream Ice Cream:
It depends. If you are keeping the ice cream in the Ninja pint container with the lid sealed tightly and are freezing it in a cold freezer (between 9 degrees F and -7 degrees F), your ice cream will keep for several weeks, even months. However, if you transfer your ice cream to another container or freeze it in a freezer that is not quite as cold (or that is accessed a lot/door opened and closed often), the lifetime of your ice cream will decrease greatly to just a few days and you will likely end up with freezer-burned ice cream.
Yes, you can. But, frozen fruit either needs to be thawed out before using, blended with the other ingredients, or have a liquid, like dairy added to the pint to fill in all of the gaps. You cannot only use frozen fruit as it could damage the machine.
According to Ninja Kitchen, yes. It takes 24 hours for the mixture to evenly freeze throughout. Many have frozen for a shorter time and been successful. However, doing so may void the warranty.
It has a neutral flavor. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. It’s closest to vanilla flavored, but with less vanilla than you would find in a vanilla coffee creamer. If you can’t find the specific creamer that I used in the recipe, try to find one that has a neutral flavor like vanilla or even plain coffee creamer. If you use the plain creamer, you’ll need to add some sweetener as many of the plain creamers aren’t very sweet.
Many coffee creamers are actually dairy free. Check the packaging to see if your favorite brand is dairy free. You can sub out the whole milk that is used in the recipe for a dairy-free option like almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk. Keep in mind that the lower fat dairy products tend to create ice cream that is a bit icy. The higher the fat content, the creamier the ice cream will be.
Ingredient substitutions for making Ninja Creami Blueberries and Sweet Cream Ice Cream:

Blueberries-Fresh or frozen blueberries can be used. If you use frozen blueberries, thaw them before combining with the rest of the base ingredients.
Whole Milk-If you prefer, you can use a lower fat or non-dairy substitute like 2% milk, 1% milk, almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk. But, the lower the fat, the higher the likelihood is that the ice cream will be icy and not as creamy.
Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer-If you can’t find sweet cream flavored coffee creamer, you can use plain or original coffee creamer, but you’ll need to add some sweetener as the plain and original versions are not usually very sweet. You can also try using vanilla flavored coffee creamer.
Vanilla Bean Paste-I prefer the flavor that the vanilla bean paste provides, but you can use vanilla extract instead, if you would like.
Directions for making Ninja Creami Blueberries and Sweet Cream Ice Cream:
Directions for Making the Ice Cream Mixture
- Pour the blueberries, milk, creamer, and vanilla bean paste into a small blender and blend until all ingredients are well combined. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.
- Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.

Directions for Processing the Ice Cream Mixture
- After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer.
- Place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on “ICE CREAM.”
- If the ice cream is dry or crumbly looking (like sand), pour in a tablespoon or two of milk and then re-spin. If the ice cream looks like little balls of ice cream, respin without adding liquid. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.
- Remove the pint from the machine and enjoy!

Per 16 ounce pint: *Add 1 Teaspoon to full fat/full sugar bases *Add 1.5 teaspoon to high protein bases *Add 2 teaspoons to low sugar/low fat lite bases. Freeze and process per the recipe. Take the leftovers out of the freezer and scoop without having to reprocess. ***This is a guideline and adjustments may be needed based on your recipe.
Original, Breeze, Swirl, and Deluxe Ingredient Measurements
Use the multiplier below to adjust quantities based on the machine that you own. ***If you have the Original, Breeze, or Swirl machine, which use 16 ounce containers, choose the 1X option. ***If you have the Deluxe or XL machine, which use 24 ounce containers, choose the 1.5X option.

Ice Cream Base
- 1½ Cups (222 g) Fresh Blueberries
- 4 Fluid Ounces (118 2/7 ml) Whole Milk
- 4 Fluid Ounces (118 2/7 ml) Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer
- 1 Teaspoon (1 Teaspoon) Vanilla Bean Paste
Optional
- 1-2 Tablespoons (1 Tablespoons) Milk
Instructions
Make the Ice Cream Mixture
- Pour the blueberries, milk, creamer, and vanilla bean paste into a small blender and blend until all ingredients are well combined. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.
- Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit. To avoid getting a bump on the top of the frozen mixture, freeze with the lid off of the container.
