Is it normal for the Ninja Creami machine to need to be unplugged and plugged back in to work?

Reasons why this may happen…

There are various reasons that this can happen, none that have been confirmed by the manufacturer.

1. Per the user manual, it is advised to unplug the Ninja Creami when it is not in use. This is VERY common for most small appliances. When you are not using the machine, it should be unplugged for safety reasons.
2. Many have reported that their Ninja Creami WILL NOT work, and it must be unplugged and then plugged back in to work. This happens in between processing pints of ice cream back to back and when the machine has not been used for a few hours or days. That’s like needing to unplug your toaster and plug it back in just to make a second piece of toast. That is not normal.
3. There is a difference between should and must. You should unplug the machine when it is not being used, but if you must unplug and plug it back in for it to work, there is an issue with the machine.
4. Initially, the trend was that this issue was primarily with the Ninja Creami Deluxe machine that was being purchased at Costco. However, many have reported that when they have been sent replacement machines (deluxe) directly from Ninja, they have the same issue. Lately, machines purchased at other retailers are having the same issue.

How to resolve the issue…

Several users have reached out to Ninja and have been told it is a defect, and their machines have been replaced.  Others have called and been told it’s a safety feature. ***This may be dependent on warranty status and the customer service rep that is contacted.  

***I own many Ninja Creami machines and have never had to unplug any of them (I have the 7-1, deluxe, breeze, and swirl machines) to make them work. If this were a safety feature on the machine, then it would be expected that the same feature would be on all machines or at least all machines of the same model and that is not the case.
