Fall flavors work really well in the Ninja Creami! Pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, caramel, maple, cranberry, and pecans all show up here in different ways, with everything from rich ice cream and gelato to protein ice creams, lower-calorie options, and fruit sorbets. There are plenty of familiar fall flavors, along with a few combinations that are a little more unexpected.

What makes these fall Ninja Creami recipes different?

I didn’t want this to be a list where every recipe was basically pumpkin spice ice cream. There are richer dessert-style options, protein ice creams, lighter recipes, and fruit sorbets, so you can pick something based on what sounds good instead of just the flavor name.

How to process a Ninja Creami base

  1. Make the base according to the recipe. The recipes in this roundup aren’t all built the same way, so follow the directions for the one you’re making instead of using one method for all of them.
  2. Freeze the pint flat. Put the container on a level surface in the freezer and freeze it for the amount of time listed in the recipe. The base should be completely frozen before you process it.
  3. Use the program listed in the recipe. Depending on what you’re making, the correct setting may be GELATO, ICE CREAM, LITE ICE CREAM, or SORBET.
  4. Check the texture after the first spin. If it looks dry or crumbly, follow the directions for that specific recipe. Some ice creams may need a little milk before a RE-SPIN, while the sorbets in this roundup should be re-spun without adding more liquid.

Fall mix-in ideas for these flavors

Mix-ins can make a big difference with fall flavors because they add the pieces and texture that make something taste more like the dessert it was inspired by. Cobbler-style toppings, chopped nuts, apple pieces, bacon, and chocolate all work well here. Add chunky ingredients after the base has been processed and use the MIX-IN cycle so they don’t get completely blended into the ice cream.

Pumpkin and apple are the biggest fall flavors in the group, but they don’t all taste like variations of the same recipe. You can go richer with Pumpkin Pie Gelato or Apple Cobbler Ice Cream, or choose something lighter like Caramel Apple Sorbet or Pumpkin Pecan Ice Cream. There are also protein versions if that’s what you’re looking for.

If you’re not in the mood for pumpkin or apple, Cranberry Orange Sorbet is bright and tart and feels completely different from the pie-inspired flavors. Maple Bacon Protein Ice Cream goes in the opposite direction with a sweet and salty combination that’s definitely one of the more unusual Ninja Creami flavors I’ve made.

The apple recipes are especially different from one another. Cinnamon Green Apple has a tart candy-like apple flavor with cinnamon, while Taffy Apple leans more into caramel apple with a little crunch mixed in. Apple Cobbler is the more traditional dessert option, and Caramel Apple Sorbet is the lighter one.

Top Tips

  1. Make sure you’re using pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. They aren’t the same thing. Pumpkin pie filling already has sugar and spices added, which can completely change the recipe.
  2. Don’t automatically add liquid when a pint looks crumbly. Check the individual recipe first. Some of the ice creams may need a little milk before a RE-SPIN, but the Caramel Apple and Cranberry Orange sorbets should be re-spun without adding extra liquid.
  3. Use the program listed in the recipe. There isn’t one Ninja Creami setting that works for everything on this list. Depending on the recipe, you’ll be using GELATO, ICE CREAM, LITE ICE CREAM, or SORBET.
  4. Save the chunky ingredients for the MIX-IN cycle. Pecans, granola, chopped apples, peanuts, bacon, and chocolate chips should go in after the base has already been processed so they don’t get completely blended up.
  5. Check the nutrition on the individual recipe if that’s important to you. A recipe being high in protein doesn’t automatically mean it’s one of the lower-calorie choices, and the nutrition can vary quite a bit depending on the flavor.

Ninja Creami Pumpkin Pie Gelato

If you want the richest pumpkin option in the roundup, Pumpkin Pie Gelato is the one to pick. It has that creamy, full-fat gelato texture with plenty of pumpkin pie flavor and warm fall spices.

Ninja Creami Apple Cobbler Ice Cream

Apple Cobbler Ice Cream is one of the more dessert-like options, with sweet apple flavor, caramel, and pieces that give it more of that cobbler feel. It’s a good choice when you want something closer to a classic fall dessert than a plain apple ice cream.

Ninja Creami Caramel Apple Sorbet-Low Calorie

Caramel Apple Sorbet has all of those caramel apple flavors, but it’s much lighter than a traditional ice cream. The apple and caramel both come through really well, with a little cinnamon in the background, and the entire pint is about 220 calories.

Ninja Creami Cinnamon Green Apple Protein Ice Cream

Cinnamon Green Apple is tart, a little sweet, and definitely more green apple than apple pie. The cinnamon softens the tartness just enough without taking over, and the entire pint has about 25 grams of protein.

Ninja Creami Pumpkin Pie Protein Ice Cream

Pumpkin Pie Protein Ice Cream is a good option when you want the pumpkin and warm spice flavors of pumpkin pie without making a rich, full-fat ice cream. It has about 27 grams of protein and comes in at about 231 calories for the entire pint.

Ninja Creami Taffy Apple Protein Ice Cream

Taffy Apple is more than just apple-flavored protein ice cream. It has that sweet caramel apple flavor with tart green apple and a little crunch, so it really does remind me of a taffy apple. The entire pint has about 33 grams of protein.

Ninja Creami Maple Bacon Protein Ice Cream

Maple Bacon is definitely the most unusual flavor here, but the sweet and salty combination works. You get plenty of maple flavor along with little salty bites of bacon and chocolate throughout the pint. It also has about 35 grams of protein.

Ninja Creami Cranberry Orange Sorbet-Low Calorie

Cranberry Orange Sorbet is bright, tart, and a nice break from all of the heavier pumpkin and apple flavors that show up in the fall. The cranberry is the stronger flavor, while the orange adds enough sweetness and citrus to balance it out.

Ninja Creami Pumpkin Pecan Ice Cream-Low Calorie

Pumpkin Pecan Ice Cream has plenty of pumpkin pie flavor, but the pecans make it a little different from a basic pumpkin ice cream. I like the extra texture from the chopped nuts, and the entire pint comes in at about 284 calories.
