Did you know that you can make sorbet out of cranberry sauce in the Ninja Creami ice cream machine? Well, you can and it’s super easy to do and tastes amazing. I used canned cranberry sauce, but you could very easily use homemade cranberry sauce leftover from the holidays.
This recipe comes in at 297 calories, 1 gram of protein, 56 grams of sugar, 118 carbs, 70 grams of net carbs and 0.3 grams fat. See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for all nutrition facts.
You can’t have Thanksgiving dinner without cranberry sauce! Cranberry sauce is a little sweet and a little tart. It goes really well with savory dishes like turkey and gravy. But, what do you do with the leftover cranberry sauce? Easy…you turn it into a dessert with the perfect texture!

You could probably use just cranberry sauce to make sorbet, but I add a few things to the cranberry sauce to add a little extra flavor. My grandma ALWAYS added orange juice or orange zest to her cranberry sauce and relish. So, I’ve come to really enjoy the orange flavor, so I’ve added in orange juice to my recipe for Ninja Creami cranberry orange sorbet. If you prefer, you can omit the orange juice and replace it with more cranberry sauce.

One of the nice things about this recipe is that you can make it year round. You don’t have to wait for the holidays to have Ninja Creami cranberry orange sorbet. Fresh cranberries are usually only available at the grocery store around the holidays. But, canned cranberry sauce is available all year long!

Tips for making Ninja Creami Low Calorie Cranberry Orange Sorbet:
Yes, you can use homemade cranberry sauce instead of pre-made, canned sauce. Depending on how you make your cranberry sauce, you may need to adjust the amount of allulose and orange juice that is used. Anytime a different ingredient is used, the nutritional information can vary.
If you would prefer the sorbet to have a stronger cranberry flavor, you can substitute some of the orange juice for additional cranberry juice.
I prefer to use the whole cranberry sauce over the jellied because I like the texture and flavor that the berries provide. It’s a personal preference.
Orange zest, walnuts, fresh or dried cranberries can be added in during the mix-in cycle if you would like.
Cranberry sauce has more calories than zero sugar cranberry juice. Using all cranberry sauce would increase the calories for the pint of sorbet and the goal was to keep the calories below 300 for the entire pint.

Ingredient substitutions for Ninja Creami Low Calorie Cranberry Orange Sorbet:
The full ingredient list is at the bottom of this post in the recipe card.

Cranberry Juice- Zero sugar cranberry juice was used in the recipe because it only has 5 calories per 8 fluid ounces. If you don’t mind the extra calories, you can use regular cranberry juice with sugar in it.
Cranberry Sauce- Canned cranberry sauce was used. I prefer the sauce over the jelly. You could use the jelly or even leftover homemade cranberry sauce.
Orange Juice- Orange juice adds great flavor to the cranberry sauce in the recipe. If you prefer, you can use all cranberry juice instead of using orange juice. It doesn’t matter if you use orange juice with or without pulp. Use an orange juice that you like the flavor of.
Sweetener- I use allulose as a sugar substitute because it tastes very similar to sugar, does not have a fake sugar flavor or after taste, and is a 1:1 ratio with sugar. Feel free to use your favorite sugar substitute that is a 1:1 ratio to sugar.
Directions for making Ninja Creami Low Calorie Cranberry Orange Sorbet:
Directions for Making the Ice Cream Mixture
- Pour the cranberry juice, cranberry sauce, orange juice, and allulose into a small blender and blend until all ingredients are fully combined. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami container.
- Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours. Your freezer should be between 9 and -7 degrees Fahrenheit.

Directions for Processing the Ice Cream Mixture
- After 24 hours, remove the Ninja Creami container from the freezer. If there is a large bump in the sorbet, melt or scrape the large bump so that the top is level.
- Place the Ninja Creami container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami and then process on “SORBET.”
- If the sorbet is dry or crumbly looking (like sand), respin. You should not need to add any additional liquid during the respin. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times.

Recipes that use allulose:
Allulose is a low calorie sweetener that your body doesn’t fully digest, so it provides only 0.4 calories per gram instead of 4.
