Tips for making this recipe:
- Be sure to clean your sweet potatoes really well if you are keeping the skins on. The skins add additional nutrients so it’s a good way to be a little extra healthy without really trying. ๐
- Try the marshmallow sauce! Seriously- I know I sound like a broken record here. But it is SO GOOD!! It’s really quick and easy to make and you likely have the ingredients on hand. You can thank me later!
- Check on how your sweet potato fries are doing in the Ninja Foodi. It’s easy to estimate how long they should take to cook, but based on thickness and the number of fries, you may need to adjust to add or reduce a couple of minutes. Just open the lid and check for doneness. If they need more time, close the lid. ๐
- Try to cut all fries the same size. This will help make sure that all fries are cooked the same. If the fries are different thicknesses, some might take longer to cook than others.
Instructions:
- Wash your sweet potatoes really well. The outside of a sweet potato is thicker than a normal potato and can sometimes have a little bit of additional dirt on the skin.
- If you prefer, you can peel the sweet potatoes using a potato peeler. I prefer to leave the skins on the sweet potatoes for nutritional value. ๐
- Cut the sweet potatoes into “fries.” I recommend slicing the sweet potato lengthwise into ยผ to ยฝ inch slices first and then cut those slices again into ยผ to ยฝ slices lengthwise. This will leave you with ยผ to ยฝ inch wide sweet potato fries.
- Toss the sweet potato fries in 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil.
- Turn the Ninja Foodi on.
- Place the crisping basket into the Ninja Foodi pot.
- Add the sweet potato fries to the crisping basket. Try to spread the sweet potato fries out so they are not all stacked on top of each other. The more spread out that they are, the crispier they will be. ๐
- Close the crisping lid.
- Select “Air Crisp” and change the temperature to 375 degrees. Change the time to 25 minutes.
- Close “Air Crisp” lid.
- After cooking for 10 minutes, open the “Air Crisp” lid and flip the sweet potato fries.
- Close “Air Crisp” lid and continue to cook.
- While sweet potatoes are cooking, prepare marshmallow sauce according to recipe.
- Check for doneness every 5 minutes.
- Once the sweet potato fries are cooked to your desired doneness, turn the Ninja Foodi off.
- Using tongs, remove the sweet potato fries from the Ninja Foodi and serve with Marshmallow Sauce.
